There are few moments in diving as rewarding as watching a group of committed professionals reach the finish line—and on April 26, 2026, we had the pleasure of doing exactly that at Splash.
Our latest PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) candidates successfully completed their Instructor Examination (IE), earning their place among the newest PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors.
A Milestone Achievement
Becoming a PADI Instructor is not a casual step—it requires:
- Mastery of dive theory and standards
- Consistent demonstration-quality skills in the water
- The ability to teach, adapt, and lead with confidence
This group met those standards and delivered when it counted.
The photo above captures the moment: newly certified instructors holding their credentials, alongside the “Congratulations PADI Instructors” banner—a well-earned recognition after weeks of preparation.
Led by One of Belize’s Top Course Directors
This IDC was conducted under the guidance of Patty Ramirez, a PADI Course Director—and notably one of only two in Belize.
That distinction matters.
Course Directors represent the highest instructional rating within PADI, responsible for training the next generation of instructors. Patty’s leadership, experience, and attention to detail ensured that candidates were not only prepared to pass the IE, but to go on and teach safely and effectively in real-world conditions.
More Than Just Passing an Exam
While the IE is the final hurdle, the real outcome is bigger:
These new instructors are now equipped to:
- Train future divers
- Promote safe diving practices
- Share the underwater world with confidence and professionalism
They leave not just with certifications—but with the responsibility that comes with them.
Why It Matters
Every strong dive operation depends on well-trained, competent instructors. Programs like this ensure that:
- Standards are upheld
- Students receive high-quality training
- The diving community continues to grow responsibly
At Splash, we take that responsibility seriously.
Congratulations to the New Instructors
To the entire group—well done.
