Sunset Cruise

Discover a different side of Placencia on this relaxing sunset cruise through the peaceful mangrove channels, canals, and lagoon waters surrounding the peninsula. This scenic evening tour combines beautiful views, wildlife spotting, and a laid-back Caribbean atmosphere as the sun sets behind the Maya Mountains. 

Departing from the Splash Dive Center marina at 4:30 PM, your captain will guide you through the quiet inner waterways that wind through the mangroves and residential canal system of Placencia. Along the way, you’ll see colorful homes, boats tucked along private docks, and small lagoon islands that offer a glimpse of local life on the peninsula. Keep an eye out for manatees, herons, pelicans, and other tropical birdlife that are often most active in the early evening hours. 

As the sun begins to set, the boat anchors on the calm lagoon for the highlight of the evening — watching the sky change colors over the Maya Mountains while enjoying a selection of tasty snacks, music, and a glass or two of wine. The peaceful setting and cool evening breeze make this one of the most relaxing experiences in Placencia. 

After sunset, cruise back through the mangroves and canals as the lights of Placencia reflect off the water, offering a charming nighttime perspective of the village before returning to Splash Dive Center at approximately 8:00 PM.
