TROLLING, SPIN CAST AND BOTTOM FISHING IN BELIZE
Belize offers some of the finest sport fishing in the Caribbean. Home to the Belize Barrier Reef—the longest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere and the second longest in the world—Belize boasts an extraordinary variety of fishing grounds. From shallow mangrove lagoons, sandy flats, and winding rivers to coral reefs, reef drop-offs, and offshore waters, anglers enjoy exceptional opportunities for Belize reef fishing, bottom fishing, spin casting, fly fishing, and trolling. Whether you’re planning a half-day fishing charter, a full-day adventure, or a multi-day Belize fishing vacation, our Placencia fishing charters offer an unforgettable experience for anglers of every age and skill level.
Once a quiet fishing village, Placencia has become one of Belize’s premier destinations for sport fishing and outdoor adventure while preserving its authentic Caribbean charm. Beyond world-class fishing, visitors can enjoy scuba diving, snorkeling, whale shark encounters, island-hopping, jungle adventures, Maya archaeological sites, bird watching, and cultural tours. It’s the perfect destination to combine an exciting fishing trip with the very best experiences Belize has to offer.
Our guides are all local. They grew up in Placencia learning the secrets of the seas, lagoons, and rivers from their fisherman fathers and have years of experience fishing in Belize.
Our standard boat is a 23-foot skiff with a canopy.
Bottom Fishing and Trolling in Belize
New to fishing in Belize or haven’t fished in a long time? No problem! Our guides can give you a quick course in spin casting, jigging, or trolling. Furthermore, you will be fishing in less than an hour. Don’t have equipment? No problem — our guides have gear perfectly suited to local conditions. Additionally, water is included in the price.
Bottom fishing is a great way to introduce children to saltwater fishing. In fact, it is usually the busiest type of fishing on our tours. First, your guide catches bait with a cast net. Then you head to a favorite spot for bottom fishing with live bait. Moreover, you can catch snapper and grouper by bottom fishing. Additionally, jack, mackerel, barracuda, and shark are common catches on troll lines inside the reef.

Tired of bottom fishing? Take some time to do some trolling. What a way to explore the coastline of Belize and find out where the fish are!
Full-day tours include lunch, water, and sodas. Half-day tours include water and sodas and snacks.
Full-day tours depart at 8:00 am returning at 5:00 pm. Half-day tours depart at 8:00 am returning at 12:00
