Owned and operated by Patty Ramirez and Ralph Capeling, Splash Dive Center is committed to providing guests with memorable, eco-friendly experiences in Belize. Our mission is not just diving, but to foster a deep connection to the environment and community. By practicing sustainable tourism, we create local jobs and support community-driven initiatives. Our strong community focus is evident through our children’s diving programs, environmental education, and active contributions to local development in Placencia, Belize. Patricia Ramirez | PADI Course Director
Founder of Splash Dive Center, Patricia “Patty” Ramirez has led Splash since 2000, growing it into the largest dive operation in southern Belize. Under her leadership, Splash has earned the prestigious Belize Tourism Board’s “Tour Operator of the Year” award twice. Patty, a passionate athlete, is also the founder of the Splash Running Club and Arrecife Handmade, a non-profit supporting youth athletics and students through sustainable practices. She is also the Belize Tourism Industry Association representative on the Belize Tourism Board’s Tour Operators Committee.
Patty became the first woman in Belize to achieve the elite rank of PADI Course Director in 2007, reflecting her dedication to marine conservation and dive education. There are only two PADI Course Directors in Belize. Her exceptional work earned her the ‘Hero of the Sea Award’ from Scuba Diving Magazine, recognizing her contributions to her community and the environment.
Ralph Capeling | PADI IDC Staff Instructor
Ralph Capeling moved to Belize in 2005, drawn by its remarkable natural beauty and forward-thinking environmental policies. With over 40 years of experience in the oil industry and extensive diving credentials, Ralph became deeply involved with Splash Dive Center after witnessing the impact of its community programs and participating in its program of teaching local kids to dive for free .
Together with Patty, Ralph helps manage the dive center, focusing on the safety and quality of the experiences and environmental stewardship. Ralph is passionate about educating the world about the beauty of Belize and the importance of preserving this precious spot on planet Earth. He personally responds to all reviews and often congratulates reviewers for becoming abassadors for Belize. Ralph also serves as the Trust Admistrator for the Jaguar Trust fund, a charitable non-profit entity designed solely or the protection and preservtion of the animals and envioronment of the Cockscomb Wildlife Sanctuary.

Since 2000, Splash Dive Center has been delivering exceptional scuba diving, snorkeling, and adventure tours throughout Placencia and Southern Belize. As a PADI Five-Star Instructor Development Center, we combine expert instruction with unforgettable experiences on the reef.
The Belize Tourism Board has recognized our commitment to excellence by naming us Tour Operator of the Year twice, which is an honor achieved by only one other dive center in the country. As a fully accredited PADI Dive Center, we provide up-to-date scuba and snorkel equipment that we maintain to the highest standards. Our facility features state-of-the-art air compressors, and we do offer nitrox!
With a fleet of five dedicated dive and snorkel boats, we run daily trips to a variety of top destinations from Placencia, giving you the flexibility to explore the very best of Belize’s underwater world.
