What to Pack when I travel to Placencia!

Knowing that Placencia is a prime beach destination in Belize helps you to figure out what makes it in your suitcase. In addition, knowing a little more about your destination and the activities you can do whilst there – helps to get packing.

If you are a “have no plans” traveller and like to go with the flow and see where you end up, then packing is pretty basic. Placencia on the other hand can take you in so many directions, you may want to end up in various places every day…and you may end up needing more vacation days than you had planned for.

Here is a top list of what makes it in most bags when traveling to Placencia

#1 – Bathing Suit/ Bikini- Certainly beach bumming is on my top list when I travel to Placencia; so packing one or two bathing suits is a must, especially if you plan to hit the beach frequently.

#2- Camera- If I am unable to freeze some of the happy moments during my vacation to share with my friends, then it is like it didn’t happen. Besides when I get back home these pictures will compliment my storytelling at Thanksgiving dinner.

#3 Hiking Shoes – Certainly visiting the Placencia Peninsula offers the opportunity to explore the many adventures Belize inland has to offer, including the hidden caves and the ancient Maya temples.

# 4 Open mind- Be ready to immerse yourself in the culture and mingle with the locals. Try new foods and explore new adventures. The best way to explore a new destination is keeping an open-mind.
